Prohibited items
Draft updated 23 September 2026
In short: What you may not list. Breaking these rules removes the listing and can close your account.
Never allowed
Vehicles you do not own or are not authorised to sell.
Vehicles with tampered, ground-off, or re-stamped engine or chassis numbers.
Vehicles with an active encumbrance, unless the outstanding balance is disclosed in the listing and the lender is named.
Vehicles reported stolen, held as evidence, or subject to a court order.
Flood-damaged or insurance write-off vehicles presented as undamaged.
Vehicles without OR/CR, unless listed explicitly as for-parts and clearly marked as not roadworthy.
Listing conduct
No contact details in listing text, photos, or your display name. First contact stays in Kardel messages so contact redaction and the participant record can support safety review.
No manufacturer press photos in place of photos of the actual unit.
No financing or warranty terms we cannot verify with the named provider.
No duplicate listings for the same vehicle.
What happens if you break these
First instance: the listing is removed and you're told why. You can fix and relist.
Repeat instances may result in reduced listing access, badge removal, message restrictions, or account suspension.
Suspected fraud, tampering, or stolen goods may result in permanent account closure and referral to law enforcement. Kardel does not provide escrow; transaction-specific payment roles must be disclosed before payment.
