Payments and no escrow
Draft updated 23 September 2026
In short: Kardel does not provide escrow. Payment instructions, invoices, proof review, and downpayment checkout may be available for a specific transaction when enabled.
Payment boundary
Kardel supports vehicle inquiries and applications. Depending on the transaction and enabled features, a buyer may see an invoice, payment instructions, a place to submit payment proof, a cash downpayment receipt, or hosted PayMongo checkout for a financing downpayment.
Kardel does not hold an escrow balance or promise to release funds when a vehicle is delivered. A submitted receipt, checkout return, or application status is not proof that payment was received or that the vehicle is ready for release.
Before agreeing to a sale
Confirm the vehicle, seller identity, ownership documents, inspection arrangements, full price, charges, and written payment terms. A Kardel partner badge is not a mechanical inspection, title warranty, or guarantee of payment performance.
Before paying, check that the written transaction terms identify the legal payee, payment route, receipt process, cancellation and refund contact, and who is responsible for delivery. Do not pay someone who claims Kardel is holding an escrow deposit.
Feature availability
Payment methods and invoice tools can be unavailable for a particular transaction. A payment request in a message does not itself enable a Kardel payment feature.
Any new payment or financing arrangement needs transaction-specific terms and the required provider, identity, security, and legal checks before use. This page does not create an escrow service.
